Sean Monahan is on pace to score a career high number of goals in a single season, but his marker to open the scoring for the Calgary Flames against the visiting LA Kings on Wednesday may already be the best of the bunch.

The 23-year-old finished off an impressive team passing sequence at 14:03 of the first period, following a drop pass by Micheal Ferland and an quick give-and-go with Johnny Gaudreau. By the time the dazzling series of passes had be completed, all Monahan had to do was tap the puck past helpless Kings goalie Darcy Kuemper.
The goal was the 22nd of the season for Monahan, with Gaudreau and Ferland picking up assists on the play. The Kings equalized in the third period before Tanner Pearson scored late in overtime to give the visitors a 2-1 victory.
