Patrick Kane continued to make Chicago Blackhawks history during the team's 4-1 loss against the New Jersey Devils on Saturday.
Nearly two weeks after Kane recorded a pair of assists to move into the Blackhawks top-five all-time oints list, the Blackhawks star became the latest player in the organization's history to reach the 300 goal mark. He joined the Bobby Hull, Stan Mikita, Steve Larmer and Denis Savard as the newest Blackhawk to accomplish the feat.
Kane scored the historic goal with 2:42 remaining in the second period, the lone time Chicago was able to beat Devils goaltender Cory Schneider, who made 39 saves en route to the win.

Kane became the first player from the 2007 draft class to reach the 300-goal plateau, and the 21st American-born skater to ever hit that number. He has twice represented the United States at the Olympic Games and served as an alternate captain at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey. Kane is one of three active Americans to reach the milestone, joining Phil Kessel (311) and Joe Pavelski (302), who also both recorded their respective 300th goals this season.
The Blackhawks, who won five of six entering play Saturday, failed to make up ground within their division. Chicago has 39 points this season and currently sits in fifth place in the Central. The loss, coupled with an Anaheim Ducks victory, also saw Chicago slip to ninth-place overall in the conference and out of a wild card spot.
