While the Pittsburgh Penguins nearly doubled the Vancouver Canucks in shots on Saturday at Rogers Arena, the home team had an answer for every bit of the Penguins offense.
His name was Brock Boeser.
The Canucks rookie forward registered the first multi-goal game of his career, and didn't stop there, also netting his first career hat trick to help Vancouver defeat the Penguins 4-2.

After Boeser missed a game due to a bruised foot, he returned on Wednesday in the Canucks 2-0 loss against the New Jersey Devils, registering four shots on goal in 15:30 of ice time.

On Saturday against the Penguins, fired a career high seven shots on net, and beat Matt Murray three times, surpassing his goal total (two) from his first nine games of the season.
Boeser opened his night midway through the first period when he stickhandled around Kris Letang, and then past Murray to tie the game at 1-1.
Boeser's second goal was the only scored by either team in the second period, and broke the 1-1 tie. After the puck pinballed around the crease, it ended up on Boeser's stick at the side of the net, leaving him all alone with plenty to shoot at.
Though the Penguins tied the game at 2-2 in the third, Boeser wasn't finished. He capped off his hat trick 67 seconds after the Penguins tied the game, when he beat Murray with a wrist shot high to the glove-hand side.
It was a big night for Boeser and his line, and Bo Horvat, who assisted on all of Boeser's goals — with primary assists on two of them — scored a goal of his own late in the third to round out the productive night. Boeser assisted on Horvat's goal, his fourth point of the night, another career best. The other member of the '3B' line, Sven Baertschi, finished with three assists.
