The quarterfinals are here. After a perfect preliminary round, it's win or go home the rest of the way for the USA, and it starts with a matchup against Czechia on Wednesday.
USA ended group play with a 3-2 win over Sweden on Sunday, finishing with a 4-0-0-0 record in Group B and securing the top spot.
It's been a group effort for the Americans, who are aiming to win back-to-back gold medals for the first time at the World Juniors. Thomas Bordeleau leads the team in points with seven, as the Sharks draft pick has a goal and six assists heading into the quarterfinals.
Behind him is his linemate Carter Mazur, who has four goals and two assists, as well as Matt Coronato, who also has four goals and two helpers.

Goaltending was the biggest question mark coming into the tournament, but Kaidan Mbereko has answered the call. In three games started, he is 3-0-0-0 with a 1.33 GAA and a .939 save percentage.
Czechia stumbles into the quarterfinals, coming off an upset loss to Latvia. A win would have secured the No. 3 spot for the Czechs and a better quarterfinal matchup. Instead, Latvia leapfrogged them for third place in the group, and Czechia now has to face the USA. The team won just one game in the prelims, a 5-4 victory over Slovakia.
Jan Mysak leads Czechia in points with five, collecting three goals and two assists thus far. Michal Gut and Stanislav Svozil each have three.
