Team USA looks to continue its hot start at the 2024 World Juniors when it takes on Switzerland Thursday morning.

The Americans outlasted Norway, 4-1, in a hard-fought opening matchup on Tuesday. Winger Gavin Brindley (Columbus Blue Jackets) netted a pair of goals in the second period to help Team USA pull away. Goalie Trey Augustine (Detroit Red Wings) pitched in a strong performance in net, holding his own against a flurry of shots.

Switzerland, meanwhile, fell to Slovakia, 3-0, in its opener Wednesday morning. The game was closer than the final score indicates, as two late goals by Slovakia — once Switzerland had pulled its goalie in favor of an extra skater — created the wider margin.

Team USA has never lost to Switzerland in WJC competition, touting 23 wins and two ties in the series.
