The Toronto Marlies forfeited Friday's AHL game against the Texas Stars after Marlies assistant coach Rob Davison suffered a prolonged grand mal seizure in the visitors' dressing room.
Davison was immediately taken to a nearby hospital where he stayed overnight, the Toronto Maple Leafs said. The team confirmed the specifics of the emergency on Saturday afternoon and said Davison's condition had stabilized. Davison was released from the hospital Saturday and will return to Toronto; as a result, he will be away from the Marlies indefinitely on medical leave.

“Following what happened tonight with Rob in front of our players and staff, I consulted with Laurence Gilman, Greg Moore and the leadership group of the Marlies," Maple Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas said Friday in a statement. "I was informed by the leadership group that the entire team was in a state of shock and not comfortable proceeding with tonight's game. We fully support our players and staff in this matter.
"The Maple Leafs would like to thank the Stars’ medical team and the HEB Center staff for their urgent care."
The AHL later announced that the Marlies' forfeit resulted in the Stars being awarded a 1-0 win.
The Marlies are the Maple Leafs' AHL affiliate. Davison, 39, has been an assistant coach with the team since the 2017-18 season.
