Sven Baertschi injury update: Canucks' forward has separated shoulder, may not return this season image

Canucks forward Sven Baertschi could miss the remainder of the 2017-18 season with a separated right shoulder, according to Vancouver coach Travis Green.

The 25-year-old Swiss winger left Friday night's 4-3 overtime loss to the Predators early in the second period after being hit by Nashville defenseman Alexei Emelin.

Baertschi, who missed nearly a month earlier this season with a broken jaw, was extending his right arm in an attempt to corral a loose puck when Emelin came over to cut him off with a hard shoulder. He immediately skated off the ice in some distress and did not return for the remainder of the game.

Baertschi has registered 14 goals and 15 assists this season, his third with the Canucks.
