Stanley Cup Finals 2024 NHL champion: Betting favorites

To nobody's surprise, the Panthers (+900) sit atop the 2025 odds board as favorites. Florida has made back-to-back Stanley Cup Finals and won 52 regular-season games in 2023-24 while scoring 110 points and maintaining an NHL-best +68 goal differential. Paul Maurice's squad looks to be able to return the majority of its core and run it back in 2024-25, so the Panthers seem like a deserving odds-on pick.

The Avalanche, Stars, and Oilers (all +1000) serve as the only other three teams with odds shorter than +1100. Colorado scored a league-high 304 goals and maintained an NHL-best 31-9-1 record at home. Dallas ranked first in the Western Conference and second in the NHL with 113 points this season. Edmonton enjoyed a +57 goal differential, then rocketed through the Stanley Cup Playoffs and clinched its first finals berth since 2006.

The Hurricanes (+1100) round out the top five on the futures boards. Carolina ranked third in the NHL with 111 points in 2023-24, and has been rumored to be involved in trade discussions to upgrade at goalie.

Why the Panthers are a good bet to win the 2025 Stanley Cup Finals

Now that the Panthers have won back-to-back Eastern Conference Finals and a Stanley Cup, many analysts believe this team has what it takes to repeat — and possibly even start flirting with a dynasty.

Florida's cap space projects at around $20 million this summer, which doesn't exactly scream "flexibility." However, that should be enough money to extend the contracts of forward Anton Lundell and at least one other top-line player (probably either F Sam Reinhart or D Brandon Montour).

The rest of the Panthers' core should remain intact, and if healthy, should easily contest for yet another run at the Stanley Cup.
