The San Jose Sharks' miserable season just took another downturn.
All-Star forward Tomas Hertl will miss the rest of the season after suffering a torn ACL and MCL in his left knee. Hertl sustained the injury on Jan. 29 in a 5-2 loss to the Vancouver Canucks, during which the 26-year-old played only one minute and 10 seconds before being forced out.

He is expected to be ready for the team's 2020 training camp in September.
This isn't the first knee injury for the 17th-overall pick in the 2012 draft; Hertl had multiple surgeries on his right knee earlier in his career.
Now in his seventh year in the NHL, Hertl had a star turn at last week's All-Star Game as he made headlines for donning a Justin Bieber mask during a skills competition event against St. Louis Blues goalie Jordan Binnington before leading all scorers in the 3-on-3 tournament with five goals for the Pacific Division.
Hertl has 16 goals and 36 points for the Sharks this season. San Jose is third-last in the Western Conference, nine points out of a playoff spot.
