Following Don Cherry's termination from Hockey Night in Canada's "Coach's Corner," suspicion rose regarding co-host Ron MacLean's future on the program.
He settled the rumors on Friday with a tweet directed at Steve Simmons of the Toronto Sun, who had claimed MacLean might not be on the show come Saturday.
I can't get this confirmed but I am hearing Ron MacLean may not be on Hockey Night In Canada tomorrow night and is considering leaving the show. He would like to stay on Hometown Hockey on Sunday's and separate himself from the Saturday show.

MacLean responded on Twitter, clearing the air that he does not intend to leave the Saturday segment as well as explaining where the rumor likely sparked.

@simmonssteve it's Ron Steve...not leaving Saturdays. That rumble likely comes from ideas early on I shared in processing everything.

The process the co-host referred to was the fallout from Cherry's controversial comments on the Nov. 9 edition of "Coach's Corner" when he isolated and targeted immigrants for not wearing poppies in recognition of Remembrance Day, as is a tradition in Canada.
He was fired from Sportsnet on Monday, less than 48 hours after his controversial comments were made.
