Phillip Danault was stretchered off the ice after a Zdeno Chara shot hit Danault in the head late in the second period of the Canadiens game against the Bruins.
The 24-year-old center took a one-timer off the stick of Chara with 1:37 left in the second. According to the broadcast, the puck was traveling 123.2 kilmoters per-hour.

Danault remained down on the ice for several minutes before attempting to get up onto his own power before remaining on the ice.
Chara, who stood by Danault and the medics immediately following the shot, did not leave the ice until the stretcher was wheeled off.

The two teams headed to the locker room with 1:37 remaining in the 2nd period, and will pick up where they left off following the intermission.
Both teams returned to their respective locker rooms after Danault was wheeled off the ice, and the final 97 seconds of the second period were played after a regular intermission.
The Canadiens announced that Danault was taken to a local hospital to undergo further exams for a head injury, and will be kept overnight and re-evaluated Sunday.
