Phillip Danault has been released from hospital after being hit in the head by a Zdeno Chara slap shot in the second period of Saturday night's Montreal Canadiens game against the Boston Bruins.
The 24-year-old was stretchered off the ice Saturday following several minutes of medical attention from team staff, and was taken to a local hospital to undergo further exams for a head injury. The Canadiens announced Sunday that Danault had returned home after being released from hospital.

Medical update - Phillip Danault was released from the hospital earlier today and is now resting at home.
Danault is in his fourth season the NHL.
