Patrick Kane recorded a career-high five points, with one goal and four assists, in the Blackhawks' 8-2 dismantling of Ottawa at the Canadian Tire Centre.
Nick Schmaltz and Jonathan Toews netted two goals apiece, while Richard Panik, Patrick Sharp and Jan Rutta each made their own contributions to the scoring frenzy.
The loss is the worst beatdown that the Sens have taken since falling 8-3 against Montreal on Oct. 30.
Over the span of 4:39, Craig Anderson surrendered three goals on four shots. After 30 relentless minutes in the net, he was replaced by Mike Condon, who allowed four goals on 17 shots.
Chicago is now 4-1-1 in its last six games. With a 14.4 percent success rate, the Hawks had the third-worst power play in the league going into the game and were 0-for-9 over their last four games.
Capitalizing on the opportunity to play the fourth-worst penalty kill unit in the league, Chicago scored a season-high four goals on the power play.

"I've never done it before in the NHL. It's a good feeling," Kane said of his career-best five points. "I think one of the things that we really haven't had the fortune of this year is to have a hot power play. You saw that tonight, we were just kind of making easy plays. I don't think it was anything special throughout the game but just kind of making the right play out there and finishing off some plays."
