It was a scripted ending befitting of Hollywood for Patrice Bergeron.

He collected the game-winner off the power play in overtime to give the Boston Bruins a 5-4 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday afternoon after being celebrated for playing over 1,000 games in his 15-year career.

The Black and Gold honored the four-time Selke Trophy winner before the game by awarding him a commemorative stick to mark the special occasion, along with a few paintings throughout his career.

Bergeron notched his 1,000th career game during the Bruins' 3-1 victory over the New York Islanders on Tuesday.

The alternate captain is currently on a hot streak, as he has collected four goals and two assists in his last three games.

This latest achievement is one of many for Bergeron, as he is firmly accounted for in the franchise record books. Bergeron currently sits fifth all-time in games played (1,002), sixth in goals (309), seventh in assists (475) and points (784).

He also becomes just the fifth Bruin all-time to reach the 1,000 game mark. Bergeron joins the exclusive club of Ray Bourque, John Bucyk, Don Sweeney and Wayne Cashman.
