The Winnipeg Jets were outshot in their 2-1 win over the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night, but they made the most of their efforts.
That was especially true at the beginning of the third period, when Nikolaj Ehlers pounced on a bad back pass to score Winnipeg's second goal of the night. The 21-year-old Jets forward stole the puck just inside the Wild blueline, turned defenseman Mikael Granlund inside-out, then proceeded to deke past goaltender Alex Stalock before slipping a backhander into the gaping net.
Ehlers' goal ultimately ended up being the winner after Luke Kunin put Minnesota on the board at 5:36 in the third. The Dane has scored seven goals and added two assists in 11 games so far this season.
