The Oilers have stolen home ice advantage in the Western Conference Finals.

Edmonton went into a pivotal Game 5 in Dallas and routed the Stars, 3-1, to take a 3-2 lead in the series.

Oilers lifer Ryan Nugent-Hopkins played hero to give Edmonton an edge. The No. 1 pick in the 2011 NHL Draft netted a power play goal in the first period to put his team in front, then scored a second in the second period to extend the lead to 2-0.

Oilers defenseman Philip Broberg helped pile on with a goal to give Edmonton a 3-0 lead late in the second period. Stars center Wyatt Johnson scored Dallas' first goal with just under six minutes to go but it wasn't enough.

Now the series shifts back to Edmonton with the Oilers one win shy of advancing to their first Stanley Cup Final since 2006.
