The Oilers and the Golden Knights kick off their first-ever NHL playoff matchup tonight with Game 1 of their second-round series. 

For the second consecutive season, the Oilers defeated the Kings in the first round of the playoffs, knocking out Los Angeles in six games. 

Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl was the headliner in the series. The German winger paced Edmonton's offense with 11 points (seven goals, four assists), while Connor McDavid recorded 10 points against the Kings.

The Golden Knights made quick work of the Jets, taking down Winnipeg in five games. After dropping Game 1, Vegas ripped off four consecutive victories. 

After missing the final three months of the regular season, Golden Knights captain Mark Stone put up eight points in the series against the Jets. 

Edmonton is aiming for a second consecutive trip to the Western Conference Final, while Vegas is trying to back to the third stage of the playoffs for the first time since 2021.
