The playoffs are the time of year when veteran players are expected to shine. For the Dallas Stars, much of their postseason success is due to a pair of rookies.
The Stars are tied 1-1 in their second-round series with the St. Louis Blues after a 4-2 Dallas victory that was led by first-year players Roope Hintz and Miro Heiskanen on Saturday afternoon.

The duo combined for three of the team's goals and now has six scored between them in the 2019 playoffs. They gave the Stars a 2-0 lead in the first period with a goal from Hintz followed by a goal from Heiskanen, assisted by Hintz.
Hintz and Heiskanen now hold the record for total postseason goals by rookies in franchise history since the team moved from Minnesota in 1993.
Hintz alone cemented himself in the team's record book in a few ways. He tied the team record for most postseason goals by a rookie since relocating to Texas (4), he is the first rookie in franchise history to notch three points in a playoff game since Don Barber on April 10, 1990 and the third rookie in team history to post two multi-goal games in a postseason.
