It took five periods and 85 minutes of hockey to decide Game 2 but the Predators came out victorious against the Jets.

With both teams fighting to end things in double overtime, it was a Kevin Fiala goal that sent Bridgestone Arena into a frenzy and the Jets into their locker room.

Game 2 never seemed to have a dull moment. Nashville came out firing, with Ryan Johansen scoring 27 seconds after puck drop and giving the Predators an early lead. The Jets took over later in the first when Dustin Byfuglien and Mark Scheifele each scored within 29 seconds of one another.

The Predators came out swinging in the second, scoring two unanswered goals--courtesy of P.K. Subban and Viktor Arvidsson--to take a 3-2 lead. Brandon Tanev tied it up for the Jets in the third but Johansen responded 34 seconds later with his second goal of the night.

With Winnipeg trailing 4-3, Scheifele scored again with 1:05 left in regulation to send the game into extra time. The first OT period saw quality scoring chances on both sides of the ice, all extinguished by lights out performances from Pekka Rinne and Connor Hellebuyck.

Just over five minutes into the second overtime, Kyle Turris got the puck up to Craig Smith to create a two-on-one in front of Winnipeg's net. Fiala collected a pass from Smith, shifted to his backhand and lifted the game-winning goal into the net past Hellebuyck.

A combined seven players racked up over 30 minutes on the ice in Game 2. The Jets outshot the Predators 50-41 but managed to tie the series at 1-1.

Nashville heads up to Winnipeg for Game 3 Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET.
