NHL playoffs 2018: Forsberg, Arvidsson each score twice to lift Predators to Game 6 victory image

The Nashville Predators needed a win against the Winnipeg Jets to keep their playoff hopes alive, and they had to do it in the hostile confines of Bell MTS Place.

Enter Filip Forsberg and Viktor Arvidsson.

The Swedes each scored a pair of goals to pace the Predators to victory in Monday's Game 6, with Arvidsson's tallies bookending Forsberg's strikes. While the two players each contributed equally, Forsberg's goals came with a "wow" factor his teammate couldn't match.

Forsberg entered Game 6 with five goals for the Predators in the current playoff run. The way his goals were scored on Monday couldn't have been more different, with the 23-year-old relying on strength and perseverance to register his first of the night at 8:16 of the second period.

While his first goal was the picture of grit and determination, Forsberg's second was nothing but skill. After receiving a pass from Arvidsson, a wide-open Forsberg deftly slipped the puck between his own legs before flipping it over a helpless Connor Hellebuyck in the Winnipeg net.

Forsberg's sublime goal put the Predators up by three early in the third period, effectively ending the contest with nearly 15 minutes left to play.

Monday's result sets up a winner-take-all Game 7 in Nashville on Thursday.
