Mathieu Perreault injury update: Jets forward a game-time decision for Game 2 image

After exiting the first game of the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Wednesday with an upper-body injury, Winnipeg Jets forward Matthieu Perreault's status for Game 2 is in question.

Perreault logged 6:52 of ice time during the Jets 3-2 win against the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday before exiting the contest in the second period. On Thursday, head coach Paul Maurice said Perreault will be a game-time decision when the Wild host the Jets for Game 2 at MTS Centre on Friday (7 p.m. ET, SN, TVA).

The Jets forward was on the receiving end of at least four Minnesota hits, and after going back into the locker room in the middle of the game, did not come back out for period three.

On Friday, after an optional morning skate prior to Game 2, head coach Paul Maurice maintained that Perreault will be a game-time decision. Rookie forward Jack Roslovic, who was a healthy scratch for Game 1, did not stay on the ice for extra conditioning work following the optional skate, a sign he could be the forward who draws in should Perreault be unavailable.

Roslovic said he wasn't sure if he would be making his Stanley Cup Playoffs debut Friday.

"Ever since the first time I came into the lineup, the goal was to be ready whenever I got my name called," Roslovic said. "I watched [Game 1] from upstairs, and you could feel the energy in the building. I was talking to [Matt Hendricks] about it, and he said it was almost a little bit more suspenseful, a little bit more pressure from watching up to, so hopefully it will go a little bit easier."

Perreault averaged 14:28 during the regular season, with 17 goals and 39 points in 70 games.
