Flames goaltender Mike Smith is heading to Tampa for the NHL All-Star Game after all.
After being snubbed of a spot on the Pacific Division roster, Smith will join Calgary teammate Johnny Gaudreau at the league's annual showcase after replacing Los Angeles Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick, according to Sportsnet.

The 35-year-old will be making his second career All-Star Game appearance after getting his first call in 2017 as a member of the Arizona Coyotes. Last year, Smith stole the show at the All-Star Skills Competition in Los Angeles by scoring a goal into a small hole in the net from 200 feet away.
Smith has posted a 20-13-5 record and a .926 save percentage in his first season with the Flames, helping Calgary maintain its position in the top-eight of the Western Conference for most of the season. After years of lackluster goaltending, the Flames acquired both Smith and Eddie Lack in the offseason, and while the latter has since been traded, Smith has been consistent for Calgary, third in the NHL with 40 starts, and ninth with 20 wins.
