After a rough start to his season, the New Jersey Devils assigned center Pavel Zacha to their AHL affiliate in Binghamton, the team announced on Friday.

The club has recalled forwards Kurtis Gabriel and Brett Seney from Binghamton.
In 10 games this season, the sixth-overall pick from the 2015 NHL Entry Draft had not registered a point with just 10 shots on goal. While Zacha played well in the Devils' first two games as the second-line center, he struggled to make an impression.
This year's performance is a far cry from his productivity the past two seasons. Zacha posted 24 points in 70 games during his first full season in 2016-17 and followed it up with 25 points in 69 games last season.
Zacha, 21, has not suited up in the AHL since the 2015-16 season -- the same year he made his NHL debut for the Devils.
