Montreal Canadiens defenseman Shea Weber scored the 500th point of his career during the second period of Montreal's 4-3 loss to the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday. Then, just over nine minutes after celebrating his first goal, Weber recorded his 501st point.
Weber's first goal, the one that made him a part of the 500 point club, is one that would leave even David Beckham bewildered.
After the Canadiens gained possession, Weber shot the puck towards the direction of St. Louis Blues goaltender Jake Allen. Weber used the ice to his benefit as the lowly-shot puck, which appeared to travel wide of the net, suddenly took a curve and maneuvered itself around Allen.
Allen didn't move his glove or blocker, all he could do was slide which was to no avail.
It's around the 500-point mark when you just gotta throw a curve ball.

It was as if Weber knew that the shot would convert. Weber's fifth goal of the season cut Montreal's deficit to 3-2 as the team entered the final period with the same score.
The 32-year-old again took advantage of the faceoff won by Canadiens forward Andrew Shaw. Weber immediately one-timed the puck through the legs of Allen and, just like that, Montreal and St. Louis were gridlocked at three.
St. Louis ultimately won the matchup, 4-3, behind Brayden Schenn's hat trick — meaning an abrupt end to the Canadiens five-game win streak. Montreal continues its homestand on Thursday as they attempt to reignite its winning ways against the Calgary Flames.
