Andrew Shaw returned to the Canadiens' lineup in style.
Just 51 seconds into Montreal's Hockey Day in Canada matchup with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Shaw netted his 12th goal of the season.
After a faceoff win, the right winger — who had not played a game in 2019 until Saturday — deflected Jeff Petry's point shot past Frederik Andersen. Shaw was definitely fired up after scoring his first goal since Dec. 29.
Shaw missed 15 games after injuring his neck in the first period Dec. 31 in Dallas. On Jan. 3, Canadiens coach Claude Julien reported that the 27-year-old had headaches from the injury and was in concussion protocol (without a concussion having been confirmed) because of his medical history.
Prior to the injury, he was having one of his best seasons, with 24 points (11 goals, 13 assists) in 36 games.
