The Winnipeg Jets and RFA Andrew Copp have officially settled on a new deal.
The 25-year-old center was awarded a two-year deal that carries an average annual value of $2.28 million, the team announced Tuesday.
Copp was originally asking for a one-year, $2.9 million deal, while the team wanted a two-year deal with a $1.5 million AAV, as per Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.

In 69 games with Winnipeg this season, Copp registered 11 goals and 25 points as the Jets' fourth-line center.
This is ultimately a win for both parties, as they pretty much split the deal down the middle. Plus, he wasn't a player the Jets wanted to lose.

Copp is a proven depth forward who can generate scoring on the bottom-6 as a playmaker and plays a solid 200-foot game. He's very sound with the puck, can force turnovers, and is able to use his speed and shot to his advantage. He can also win puck battles and beat his opponents one-on-one.
Additionally, he's one of the Jets' proven penalty killers and can win faceoffs, winning 55.3 percent of his draws this past season, while he also has proven leadership ability and toughness.
Overall, Copp is one of Winnipeg's assets on the bottom-6 and a strong competitor that's hard to play against.
