The Panthers and Hurricanes have already battled for almost 140 minutes against one another in the Eastern Conference Final, yet only one game has been played.

Game 1 between Carolina and Florida was a lengthy, four-overtime thriller that eventually saw Matthew Tkachuk and the Panthers come out victorious in what was the sixth-longest game in NHL history.

Now, the two sides are rested and ready for Game 2 tonight in Raleigh.

The loss at home in Game 1 was only the second contest that the Hurricanes have lost at PNC Arena this postseason. Meanwhile, it was the fifth overtime game the Panthers have played, and Florida has gotten the win in all five of those games requiring extra time.

Carolina is aiming to even the series, while Florida has its hopes on taking a 2-0 series lead back down to Sunrise for Game 3.

The Sporting News has all you need to know to watch Hurricanes vs. Panthers Game 2.

Prediction: After Game 1's marathon into four overtimes, Game 2 is going to be sloppy. We are already in the third round of the postseason and after a game like that, the two teams aren't going to be playing their A-game. That said, I don't see the Hurricanes dropping both games at home. Carolina bounces back and evens the series before it shifts to Florida.

Hurricanes 5, Panthers 2
