The Golden Knights have the Stars on the brink of elimination.

Vegas used a three-goal first period to secure a 4-0 win in Game 3 on Tuesday night in Dallas, building a commanding 3-0 series lead in the Western Conference Final.

Now, the Stars have their backs against the wall. The team is facing the improbable, but not impossible task of winning four consecutive games in order to keep their season alive. It's a feat that only four teams have ever accomplished in NHL history

To make matters worse, Dallas is without captain Jamie Benn for Game 4 after he was suspended for cross-checking Vegas captain Mark Stone in Game 3.

For the Golden Knights, a victory tonight means the club secures its second Stanley Cup Final appearance in the team's six years in the NHL. Vegas made it to the championship series in 2018 against Washington, but fell to the Capitals in five games, missing out on their first Stanley Cup.

Prediction: Game 3 went about as bad as it could for the Stars. They have zero momentum heading into the elimination game on Thursday and are without their captain. With that said, Oettinger has yet to steal a game this series, and I think with their backs against the wall, the Stars goalie bounces back and delivers to keep the team's season alive.
