Entering the third period, the Florida Panthers were tied up 1-1 with the Sabres in Buffalo on Friday night.
It was a close match, and had been all game. Buffalo's Kyle Okposo got the Sabres started in the first period with a goal, and then Florida's Evgenii Dadondov tied the game up early in the second period. Neither team was budging.
That was, until the third period.
The Panthers flew past the Sabres in the final period behind three goals to beat the Sabres 4-1, snapping a five-game losing streak.

The first goal came from Ian McChosen, who fired a bomb from the blue line early in the third period.
Then with less than two minutes left, Aleksander Barkov caught a pass from Jonathan Huberdeau before weaving down the ice to score the empty net goal.
Vincent Trocheck followed suit just 17-seconds later from the corner, pushing the Panthers up by three goals.
While the first goal in the final period was the most impressive, the Panthers made sure that they were walking out of Buffalo with a win — their first since Oct. 26.
