The Flames couldn't put together a team win against the Rangers, but they did see breakout performances from a trio of individuals Friday night.

Defenseman Brett Kulak kicked things off, netting the first NHL goal of his career in his 74th game with Calgary.

Centerman Curtis Lazar then tallied his first goal of the season, ending a 39-game scoring drought that dating back to April 8, 2017. Picking up an assist on Lazar's goal, Ryan Lomberg recorded his first NHL point in his third career game.

The loss in New York marks the Flames' first road loss of 2018, just days after Travis Hamonic credited the team's white jerseys as the reason for their 6-0-1 mark since Dec. 29. Calgary's 15 road victories tied for fourth most in the league and the team has three more road games ahead before heading back home to Scotiabank Saddledome.

With their victory at the Garden, the Rangers snapped a four-game losing streak, winning for the first time since Jan. 26.

The offensive production from Kulak, Lazar and Lomberg were the bright spots to an otherwise disappointing loss for the Flames, as they end their three-game winning streak. After going into the third period with a 3-2 lead, Rick Nash notched the game-tying goal before Matthew Tkachuk netted the game-winner with less than two minutes left in regulation.

The Flames continue their road trip, traveling to the Islanders on Sunday, Boston on Tuesday and Nashville on Thursday. Calgary takes on the Rangers again at home on March 2.
