Taylor Hall got into a nasty collision during the Devils' matchup with the Sabres on Saturday but he returned to the game after sitting out the end of the second period.
The Devils forward and 2017-18 Hart Trophy winner looked like he was going in for a hit on Sabres defenseman Jake McCabe in the offensive zone but he was actually the one who took the brunt of the shot.
McCabe ended up sending Hall to the ice after the collision.

Hall immediately went down the tunnel and into the locker room.

He did come back out to the bench, but then returned to the locker room, possibly undergoing concussion protocol.
Hall missed 49 games last season after he suffered a knee injury. As a result, the Devils had one of the worst records in the NHL.
The Devils also lost goalie Cory Schneider to a cramping issue in Friday's loss to the Jets though his problem is not expected to be long term.
