Edmonton Oilers defenceman Darnell Nurse has ended his holdout by signing a contract with the team.
The contract is two years long and worth $6.4 million ($3.2 million average annual value), according to SportsNet's John Shannon.
Nurse is coming off of a strong year as he put up career-highs in goals (six), points (26) and plus/minus (15). The first-round pick of the Oilers in 2013, he also played in all 82 games last season for the first time in his young career.

The 23-year-old has 14 goals and 47 points over his four-year career.
Nurse was one of the last few restricted free agents (RFA) yet to sign a new deal. The reported signing comes a day after the Winnipeg Jets re-signed their RFA defenceman, Josh Morrissey, to a two-year, $6.3 million deal.
Following the end of this bridge contract, Nurse will be an RFA when it expires in 2020.
