Taking the lead from the classic Ben Stiller comedy "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story," the Hurricanes introduced their latest Storm Surge celebration to the home crowd. After leading the crowd in the Skol Clap, Hurricanes players — divided into two teams and lined up on the blue lines — engaged in a spirited game of dodgeball that included super serious commentary from the local television announcers.

As is to be expected, the Hurricanes' social media team took full advantage of the opportunity to sprinkle in references to the movie, which also starred Vince Vaughn.

They even combined their "Bunch of Jerks" nickname with "Average Joe's," the team name of Vaughn's character.

Tuesday's win was the second straight for Carolina, contributing to the lighthearted mood of the team's postgame antics ahead of the NHL All-Star break.
