In the 110-year history of the Montreal Canadiens, goaltender Carey Price now finds himself atop the team record books.
In his 613th career game, since being selected by Montreal fifth overall in 2005, Price secured his 315th win with the Habs on Tuesday to become the winningest netminder in team history.

Price saved 20 of 21 shots sent his way in Montreal's 3–1 win over the Detroit Red Wings for his 29th win of the season.
"It means a lot," Price told reporters after the game. "I've obviously played with a lot of great players, I've had an emotional time here so far and I'm very grateful to be standing here today."

The 2015 Hart Memorial Trophy and Vezina Trophy winner surpasses Canadiens' great Jacques Plante who called Montreal home for the first 11 seasons of his career from 1952-1963. Plante still has the advantage in career wins with 437, which is the ninth-most all-time. Price's 315 is just the 29th most but is only five wins from passing Mikka Kiprusoff for 28th.

A six-time all-star, Price led the NHL in wins for the 2010-11 and 2014-15 seasons with 38 and 44, respectively.
The victory kept the Canadiens tied with the Columbus Blue Jackets for the second wild card spot in the Eastern Conference. Columbus currently has the tiebreaker over Montreal.
