A fractured rib is ending Loui Eriksson's disappointing 2017-18 season more than a month early.
The Canucks left winger missed Vancouver's last two games with an undisclosed upper body injury suffered against the Coyotes on Feb. 25. Thursday, Canucks coach Travis Green announced that Eriksson's season is over because of the rib fracture.
Eriksson is out for the season with a fractured rib, according to Coach Green.

Across 50 games with the Canucks this year, Eriksson tallied 10 goals and 13 assists for 23 points. He averaged 16:16 of ice-time prior to the injury.
The rib fracture is the latest of Eriksson's woes in Vancouver. Since signing as a free agent with the Canucks, both of Eriksson's seasons in Vancouver featured dip in production and signiciant injuries. Eriksson played 65 games last season, compared to 50 this year, before a knee injury knocked him out of commission on March 5. He had only 11 goals, 13 assists and 24 points his first year in Vancouver.
A six-time 20-goal scorer, Eriksson netted 30 his final year with the Bruins in 2015-16 before hitting free agency. He signed a six-year, $36 million contract with the Canucks after that 63-point campaign in Boston.
