Jaromir Jagr was held pointless in his Flames debut, but Calgary was still victorious over the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday night.
The Flames won 4-3 in overtime after first-period goals by Matthew Tkachuk and Michael Frolik gave them an early lead. The Kings fought back from a 2-0 deficit and got a second-period goal from Anze Kopitar and back-to-back third-period tallies from Dustin Brown to take a temporary lead, before Tkachuk scored his second of the game to tie things up.
Sean Monahan put the Flames back on top for good with the deciding goal a little over a minute into overtime, boosting Calgary to 2-1 on the season.

Jagr, who was the main talking point ahead of the early-season contest, got 13:38 of ice time and was a minus-1 in the game, which marked his debut for his ninth NHL team.

Jagr, 45, has played 23 seasons in the NHL (with several additional campaigns in Europe), and has recorded 1,914 points in the North American circuit. He signed a one-year deal with Calgary on Oct. 4, and missed the Flames' first three games of the season while getting up to game speed (and taking some time to meet one of his most famous fan groups).
