Calgary opened the scoring midway through the first period. With the teams skating four-on-four, TJ Brodie received the puck and sent a wrist shot past Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck into the left corner of the net.

Winnipeg answered with a goal of its own in the second period to even the score at 1-1 when Mathieu Perreault deflected in Bryan Little’s backhanded shot.

After a scoreless third and overtime period, Little opened the shootout with a goal. Calgary failed to convert on two attempts before Blake Wheeler scored to secure the win for Winnipeg.
