When it rains, it pours — and the floodgates were firmly open for the Boston Bruins on Monday.
David Pastrnak and Brad Marchand, who entered Monday night's game against the Penguins as Nos. 1 and 3 on the NHL point-scoring chart, respectively, continued to wield the hot hands as both players registered multi-point efforts in a rollercoaster game against Pittsburgh. Pastrnak tallied a goal and assist while Marchand notched five points as both men extended their respective point streaks, which are well into the double digits.
After Bruins forward Jake DeBrusk opened the scoring just over five minutes into the opening period, Marchand put the puck behind Penguins goaltender Matt Murray off a Pastrnak assist to give Boston a 2-0 lead at the 13:05 mark. Pastrnak then got in on the goal scoring fun early in the second period, receiving a pass from Marchand at the red line before stepping inside the Pittsburgh zone and unleashing a wrist shot from well out that evaded Murray on the short side.

It was enough to chase Murray from the game, as the Bruins had built up a 3-0 lead.
Everything seemed to be going Boston's way, with Marchand extending his points streak to 13 games while Pastrnak's was improved to a career-high 12-game run. What the Bruins didn't see coming was an apparent never-say-die attitude from the Penguins, who proceeded to score four straight goals in just over 14 minutes.
The turnaround had everyone in the TD Garden in shock, none more so than Jaroslav Halak. The Bruins netminder couldn't contain his anger after the fourth Pittsburgh goal was slotted through his legs by rookie John Marino, and Halak went full Incredible Hulk on his goalie stick.

Fortunately for Halak's backup sticks, the Bruins rediscovered their scoring touch and shored up their defensive effort in the third period. Marchand added another goal and two more assists as Boston scored three unanswered for a 6-4 victory.
