Sam Bradford, who was activated off injured reserve Saturday, has been designated as the Vikings’ backup quarterback for Sunday’s divisional playoff game against the Saints, and Teddy Bridgewater is inactive, according to a report from NFL Network.

News of Bridgewater’s scratch is not a surprise – Vikings coach Mike Zimmer rarely activates more than two quarterbacks for a game.
Bradford injured his left knee while throwing for 346 yards and three touchdowns in Minnesota’s Week 1 win over the Saints. He returned for the Week 5 game against the Bears but didn’t even make it through the first half.
Bradford was put on the IR list and Bridgewater was activated in November, before the Vikings’ Week 10 game at Washington. Bridgewater had been sidelined since tearing his ACL before the 2016 season even started. He has thrown two passes all season, both incomplete against the Bengals.
Meanwhile, the Vikings have been Case Keenum’s team, as he’s amassed 3,547 passing yards and 22 touchdowns to just seven interceptions in relief of Bradford, helping lead Minnesota to a 13-3 record and the NFC’s No. 2 seed.
