After the embarrassing outing in Week 7 when the Broncos scored just one touchdown — followed by a failed two-point conversion — and allowed a whopping nine sacks, coach Vic Fangio said he will consider making changes.
“We consider that every week," Fangio said. "Win or lose, but we’re not going to make a change just for the sake of making a change. We’ll look at it closely and weigh the alternatives, and we’ll make a decision.”
But after Denver's 30-6 loss to Kansas City on Thursday, the first-year head coach was definitive on if there will be a quarterback change.
“No,” he said.
Flacco finished 21-of-34 passing for 213 yards and the lone touchdown. He is 2-5 as a starter on the season.
While Fangio seems set on keeping Flacco as Broncos' starter, he could have other options soon.
A 9News report suggested that one of the players Fangio will be activating off injured reserve will be quarterback Drew Lock.
Lock was selected as a second-round draft pick in 2019.
He suffered a thumb injury during the preseason and was placed on injured reserve at the beginning of September.
