In what has become a recurring theme in both college football and the NFL this calendar year, Travis Kelce claimed no one thought the Chiefs could beat the Eagles in Super Bowl 57 following their 38-35 victory in Glendale, Ariz.
It's the second time in as many games the Kansas City tight end has vocally played the disrespect card, the first time coming after his team — and, in particular, quarterback Patrick Mahomes — were targets of Bengals fans. Notably, he responded to Bengals calling Arrowhead Stadium "Burrowhead," referring to Joe Burrow's success there in recent years.
Regardless, Kelce claimed no one believed the Chiefs could win Super Bowl 57 — raising more than a few eyebrows on social media. Here's what he had to say after Kansas City beat Philadelphia 38-35 in State Farm Stadium:

"Not one of y'all said the Chiefs were gonna take it home this year. Not a single one," Kelce said in the Fox postgame interview. "Feel that s—t. Feel it. And on top of that, the next time the Chiefs say something, put some respect on our name."
Kelce's claim that "not a single one" thought the Chiefs could win Super Bowl 57 created a few eye rolls on social media, especially considering Kansas City was the No. 1 seed out of the AFC with a 14-3 record and had the 2022 NFL MVP in Mahomes.
Curiously, Kelce's claim mirrors what Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett said about top-ranked Georgia following the Bulldogs' 65-7 blowout of TCU in the 2023 College Football Playoff championship. Then, as now, his comments weren't exactly taken at face value.
Here's a sampling of responses from Kelce's claim no one believed in the Chiefs:
