Tom Brady reflects on Super Bowl loss, feels 'gratitude' toward teammates image

Tom Brady and the Patriots fell short Sunday when trying to capture their second straight Super Bowl title, but the star quarterback still had kind words for his teammates.

Brady posted a reflective statement on Instagram on Friday, looking back on the 2017 season after losing 41-33 to the Eagles.

"It has taken me a few days to reflect on our Super Bowl loss as well as the great season our team had," Brady wrote. "There are many emotions when you come up short of your goal. And they are all part of learning and growing in this journey of life. Learning turns everything into a positive. And the number one feeling I have had the past four days is gratitude. Gratitude to my teammates for the incredible effort given all season regardless of the challenges we faced."

The Patriots led the AFC most of the season, and the Eagles played the Super Bowl with backup QB Nick Foles, but New England's defense struggled to make stops, leaving Brady with a tough task.

Brady, 40, has already hinted that he will play next season. He completed 66.3 percent of his passes last year for 4,577 yards and 32 touchdowns.
