This week's Thursday Night Football matchup features bitter AFC East foes, as the Jets and Patriots play their first divisional game of the 2024 season.
Aaron Rodgers sparked New York to a 24-17 victory last Sunday in Tennessee. Rodgers, 40, tossed a 26-yard pass to star running back Breece Hall and threw the go-ahead touchdown to rookie running back Braelon Allen late in the fourth quarter.
Now New York readies for its home opener. Rodgers has played just four snaps at MetLife Stadium as a Jet after injuring his Achilles in the season opener last season.
The feisty Patriots will look to foil Rodgers' return to his home turf. New England, on the heels of an impressive season-opening victory in Cincinnati, lost in overtime to Seattle on Sunday. But the Patriots' defense has proven to be a sturdy unit, and running back Rhamondre Stevenson (201 rushing yards, two touchdowns) has carried the offense.
