Doug Baldwin after multiple Seahawks injuries: 'Thursday night football should be illegal' image

The Seahawks captured their sixth win of the season Thursday night in a war of attrition with the Cardinals. Seattle moved a half-game closer to the Rams atop the NFC West but it came at the price of multiple injuries.

All-Pro Richard Sherman ruptured his Achilles; defensive tackle Jarran Reed injured his hamstring; left tackle Duane Brown exited with an ankle injury; linebacker Michael Wilhoite hurt his calf; running back C.J. Prosise left with a bum ankle; Frank Clark suffered a right thigh injury and Kam Chancellor left the field on a cart.

Afterwards, the Seahawks left standing were understandably upset with having to play their second game in four days.

"Thursday night football should be illegal," Doug Baldwin told reporters after the game. "This s— is not OK. You can quote me on that. It has to change"

Seattle linebacker Bobby Wagner also had a special message for the NFL and its scheduling of Thursday night games.

“It’s extremely tough. You look at the game you see guys dropping down on both sides with serious injuries, minor injuries," said Wagner. "We play a very physical game, physical sport. To play on Sunday and ask us to turn around and have our bodies OK on that Thursday is tough for us to do. I hope the league is watching and will look at it."

The Cardinals had major injuries as well with left tackle D.J. Humphries likely tearing his ACL and safety Tyvon Branch and tight end Ifeanyi Momah also leaving the game.
