Thursday Night Football FanDuel Picks: NFL DFS lineup advice for Week 2 Eagles-Vikings single-game tournaments image

Two of last week's most underwhelming offenses meet in Philadelphia hoping to right the ship. It's the Eagles and Vikings on "Thursday Night Football," which means the return of Amazon Prime and short weeks for NFL teams. After these teams exploded offensively in 2022, last week was a letdown for fans hoping for more of the same, but we're hoping for the sake of our FanDuel single-game DFS lineup that they get back on track.

Is a three-day break in between games enough to work out the kinks? Will these teams benefit from putting the first game quickly behind them? Regardless, we should look to both passing attacks to rebound in Week 2, pointing at least one team in the right direction. So, get the cheesesteak ready, gas up the car at Wawa, and get ready for our lineup to climb the Rocky steps to victory.

Before we break down our picks and strategy, here are the most notable scoring rules for FanDuel contests: four-point passing TDs and half-point PPR.

Eagles-Vikings FanDuel Picks Week 1: NFL DFS lineup for GPP tournaments

Eagles-Vikings TNF, $60,000 budget

MVP (1.5x points) QB Jalen Hurts, Eagles ($17,500). Fans were expecting a big-time performance from one of fantasy's best quarterbacks in New England on Sunday, but they were left hurt by Hurts. He didn't light it up through the air or inflict too much pain in the running game, leading to a pedestrian showing in terms of fantasy points. Maybe it's a Super Bowl hangover, or maybe it was just a bad week. We believe that the Patriots' defense is the reason behind the slow start, and since no one will confuse the Vikings' defense with the one from New England, Hurts is due for a better game in the Eagles home opener. The last time these two teams met in 2022, Hurts accounted for three touchdowns, one passing and two rushing, while throwing for 333 yards. Philadelphia has too much talent to struggle this much, and the new offensive coordinator woes won't last forever. Thursday night is a great chance for the team to rebound.

FLEX WR A.J. Brown, Eagles ($13,000). If we like the Eagles quarterback, then we obviously like the team's best receiver too. Brown is the type of big-bodied pass-catcher that gave Minnesota fits on Sunday, as they were bullied by Mike Evans. Brown and DeVonta Smith had 10 targets apiece last week, and that type of opportunity should give us a nice return on investment here, especially with a Vikings secondary that doesn't scare anyone. Expect Brown to shake loose more than a few times given his guaranteed target share.

FLEX WR DeVonta Smith, Eagles ($12,500). Brown's running mate also gets some love in our FanDuel lineup. As mentioned previously, Smith totaled 10 targets in the opening week. However, he also found the end zone to go along with seven catches and 47 yards. Smith has been a consistent weapon for Hurts, doubling as a great complementary piece alongside Brown in addition to being a star in his own right. We really like the Eagles pass-catchers in a game that could be a shootout, especially against inexperienced corners.

FLEX TE T.J. Hockenson, Vikings ($10,000). With Adam Thielen now in Carolina, the Vikings are searching for the second option in their offense. K.J. Osborn is currently playing the role of WR2 and rookie Jordan Addison is looming, but Hockenson has become the go-to guy if Justin Jefferson isn't available. Hockenson was targeted nine times in the opening week, a target share that would make anyone giddy. He's one of the top TE options every week in traditional fantasy and cracks our lineup because of that. It also doesn't hurt to see how the Patriots, without big-time weapons on offense, were able to exploit the Eagles with Hunter Henry. Hockenson is a better player with a better supporting cast. He should have a field day on Thursday night.

FLEX WR K.J. Osborn, Vikings ($7,000). Osborn is clearly the Vikings' WR2 at the moment and fits in nicely with our budget. He may not have the production to this point, but he's on the field a lot (91-percent snap share last week). For our purposes, that's all that matters. The ball will find him with a workload that consistent. At a cheaper price, Osborn is a great pick to rebound after the Addison hype took off with a big play in Week 1.

Best SuperDraft NFL DFS Picks for Eagles-Vikings

This year, we're also listing our favorite weekly DFS plays on SuperDraft

For those unfamiliar, SuperDraft's DFS scoring involves point multipliers as opposed to traditional salary-capped or tiered contests. A winning lineup will likely feature a strong mix of stud fantasy contributors with 1x-1.6x boosts, as well as matchup-based sleepers with larger multipliers. Each player is assigned a scoring multiplier based on their value as determined by SuperDraft. Users can roster any player in their lineup with no restrictions.

Here are the most notable scoring rules for SuperDraft NFL contests: Half-point PPRfour-point passing TDstwo-point bonuses for 100 rushing yards100 receiving yardsand 300 passing yards.

MORE SUPERDRAFT DFS: How to play SuperDraft

  • Champion (+50% points): WR, Justin Jefferson, Vikings (Multiplier 1.5x)
  • Super FLEX: QB Jalen Hurts, Eagles (Multiplier 1.05x)
  • Super FLEX: WR DeVonta Smith, Eagles (Multiplier 1.3x)
  • Super FLEX: WR A.J. Brown, Eagles (Multiplier 1.15x)
  • Super FLEX: WR K.J. Osborn, Vikings (Multiplier 1.7x)

We like Thursday night's game to have a lot of points between both sides after stumbling out of the gate on Sunday. Since SuperDraft doesn't cap our potential and instead relies on multipliers, we'll keep it simple and expect that the key receivers will make their presences felt.
