Thursday Night Football FanDuel Picks: NFL DFS lineup advice for Week 6 Broncos-Chiefs single-game tournaments image

Save money, live better. Those haven't been words to live by for the Broncos since Walmart heir Rob Walton agreed to buy the team. In fact, they've spent plenty of money and have been living worse since taking over. Broncos fans might be questioning how a family that's responsible for one of the world's largest retail chains can't turn around a football team, but that's just how it goes. Investing in Sean Payton and Russell Wilson hasn't worked yet, with the team sitting at 1-4 and another season is essentially lost. Now, they have to march in to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs.

It's not a recipe for a great game and definitely not one that is the most exciting on paper, but, as with everything, there's always a way to win some money if you just look hard enough. For this DFS slate, we believe we've cracked the code with our FanDuel single-game lineup. Let's ride.

Before we break down our picks and strategy, here are the most notable scoring rules for FanDuel contests: four-point passing TDs and half-point PPR.

Broncos-Chiefs FanDuel Picks Week 6: NFL DFS lineup for GPP tournaments

$60,000 budget, at least one player from each team required

MVP (1.5x points) RB Isiah Pacheco, Chiefs ($13,500). Denver's run defense is somehow even worse than advertised. They are giving up 187.6 rushing yards per game and allow the most fantasy points per game to running backs (39.3). It's a terrible unit that saw Breece Hall scamper for 177 yards on Sunday and now has to deal with Pacheco on a short week. The Chiefs running back runs like he hates the ground and just about everything else, making this a terrible matchup as he stomps his way up and down the field all night long. Averaging just under 16 carries per game since a quiet Week 1, don't be surprised if Pacheco manages to find the end zone, too.

FLEX TE Travis Kelce, Chiefs ($14,000). There are concerns about Kelce, who's dealing with a low ankle sprain, but we don't share them. In a game that lacks viable options, we can't avoid one of the game's best players on Thursday because we're afraid of some injury troubles. Kelce, to his credit, even returned to action on Sunday after it appeared they would have to amputate his leg following the extreme reaction. He scored a touchdown and continued being his dominant self, keeping our concern at a minimum. If the tight end is held out of action, we'll turn to the rookie Rashee Rice, who is the best of a lot of bad options in K.C.'s passing game.

FLEX WR Courtland Sutton, Broncos ($11,500). The Broncos might be a lot of things, most of them bad, but one thing they can consider a positive in 2023 is the play of Courtland Sutton. The receiver is routinely finding the end zone -- three times in five weeks -- and has developed a relationship with Russell Wilson that has the big-bodied receiver seeing plenty of targets most week. As the team's top receiving option, we're buying low on Sutton after he put up a clunker against the Jets on Sunday.

FLEX RB Jaleel McLaughlin, Broncos ($10,000). Whether Javonte Williams (hip) plays or not, doesn't matter. The rookie running back has a role in Denver's offense, one that is only going to grow as time goes on. He's scored receiving touchdowns in each of the past two games and played a prominent role in all situations. Denver will have to move the ball somehow, and our bet is that it will be with McLaughlin, who's scored 34.3 fantasy points over the past two weeks. After proving how effective he can be without Williams, it would be coaching malpractice to send McLaughlin back to the bench.

FLEX WR Marvin Mims Jr., Broncos ($7,500). Mims has mostly been a non-factor this season, targeted just 12 times over the first five weeks. Drafted in the second round, it doesn't make sense to keep him from having a positive impact on the offense when the team is 1-4. Mims has showcased his speed and ability to make big plays, scoring two touchdowns in his rookie campaign. With one receiving and one kickoff return for a TD, the Broncos need to let their playmaker do exactly that. Maybe it's not going to happen on a short week, but Sean Payton has to do something to fix his sinking team sooner rather than later.

Best SuperDraft NFL DFS Picks for Broncos-Chiefs

This year, we're also listing our favorite weekly DFS plays on SuperDraft

For those unfamiliar, SuperDraft's DFS scoring involves point multipliers as opposed to traditional salary-capped or tiered contests. A winning lineup will likely feature a strong mix of stud fantasy contributors with 1x-1.6x boosts, as well as matchup-based sleepers with larger multipliers. Each player is assigned a scoring multiplier based on their value as determined by SuperDraft. Users can roster any player in their lineup with no restrictions.

Here are the most notable scoring rules for SuperDraft NFL contests: Half-point PPRfour-point passing TDstwo-point bonuses for 100 rushing yards100 receiving yardsand 300 passing yards.

MORE SUPERDRAFT DFS: How to play SuperDraft

  • Champion (+50% points): QB Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs (Multiplier 1.5x)
  • Super FLEX: RB Isiah Pacheco, Chiefs (Multiplier 1.35x)
  • Super FLEX: WR Rashee Rice, Chiefs (Multiplier 1.65x)
  • Super FLEX: QB Russell Wilson, Broncos (Multiplier 1.35x)
  • Super FLEX: WR Courtland Sutton, Broncos (Multiplier 1.5x)

The Chiefs should handle business pretty easily on Thursday night, taking out their division rivals without much fanfare. So, for our SueprDraft lineup this week, we'll stack a few of Kansas City's playmakers on offense. On the other side, Wilson and Sutton will have to connect quite a bit a negative game script awaiting them, forcing the Broncos to rely on the air more than they'd normally like.
