The 26-year-old has only allowed four sacks since Houston took him in the second round of the 2016 draft, according to Pro Football Focus.
However, the Texans allowed quarterback Deshaun Watson to be sacked a league-high 62 times in 2018 so Martin is part of an offensive line that is suspect.
The Texans gave up six sacks in their season-opening loss to the Saints on Monday.
Martin is the younger brother of the Cowboys' five-time Pro Bowl lineman Zack Martin.
He was in the final year of his rookie deal and would have been a free agent after the season.
