While the Texans process the stunning news that star rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson is out for the season with a torn ACL suffered in practice Thursday, they're already making plans to push ahead.
Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports that the team is signing former Raiders quarterback Matt McGloin, according to a league source. Sporting News confirmed that McGloin is going in for a workout.

Tom Savage will start Sunday's game against the Colts, but the team needs another QB on the roster in the wake of Watson's injury. McGloin, a former Penn State star, spent four seasons as a backup with the Raiders. He appeared in 13 games, with seven starts, and had 11 touchdowns, 11 interceptions and 1,868 yards.
Most recently, McGloin spent time in the Eagles' camp this fall before being released.
But none of the Texans' options will match what Watson has done to start his career. The rookie is tied with Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz with an NFL-best 19 touchdown passes and was the AFC Offensive Player of the Month for October. In his last game, against the Seahawks, he threw for 402 yards and four touchdowns.
