The Super Bowl is the game of the year for most, but some will watch just for the commercials.

Every year, companies pay the big bucks to put the best commercials in front of 100-plus million people. These commercials feature the biggest stars, have hefty budgets, and are usually good for a laugh, an emotional pause, or just admiration.

The commercials might not be the same thrill they once were, but these ads are still bound to be the best commercials fans will see all year.

Plenty of the ads have already been released for Super Bowl 58, even if they're not being broadcast yet on TV. Others have just been hinted at with trailers that have aired on the silver screen or on websites.

Stop reading now if you're hoping to avoid spoilers for the commercials this year, but if you're wanting to see the ads before the big game — or if you're here later and looking to re-watch some of the spots — then Sporting News has you covered.

Super Bowl commercials 2024

There have already been several commercials released before Super Bowl 58, as well as a few trailers hinting at some commercials yet to come out.

Anheuser-Busch

Anheuser-Busch's ads have always been iconic, and they're once again rolling out major ads for the big game.

It is starting with Bud Light, where Post Malone is continuing his role as the face of the light beer brand.

Of course, the Budweiser clydesdales are also back to repeat as stars of the show. They've become a staple of the Super Bowl experience.

Lionel Messi is now getting involved in the beer game. He's wondering how the tap ran out, he's impressing Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis), and he's dribbling past a dog on the beach.

BetMGM

Would it really be the Super Bowl without Tom Brady?

Well, Vince Vaughn (and the rest of America) are tired of Brady winning all the time. That's why anyone who's not Brady can win with BetMGM ... even four-time Stanley Cup winner Wayne Gretzky.

BIC lighter

Willie Nelson's lighting them up. Candles, that is. Well, them and a torch wick and a grill.

The only thing is, it appears the lighter isn't actually his. It's Snoop Dogg's. And Martha Stewart is just as confused as everyone else as to why Nelson isn't lighting up a different kind of bulb with his EZ reach lighter.

BMW

Everyone tries to do a Christopher Walken impression. But there's only one Christopher Walken.

And this year, he's showing that there's also only one BMW electric vehicle, and all the other are just imitations. Oh yeah, and thank goodness he shows up to let Usher know he has somewhere to be.

Booking.com

Everyone could use a body double to fill in and help people get away for vacation. Even Tina Fey.

Jane Krakowski is one such body double for Fey, and Jack McBrayer can't quite tell that Bigfoot isn't his former "30 Rock" co-star. Then, Glenn Close appears out of nowhere as the third body double to steal Fey's line.

Coors

The Chill Train has left the station.

The iconic train was last seen in an ad back in 2012. It's now the subject of the latest beer ad as it rolls in to save the day from a potentially divisive household between split fans. Along the way, conductor LL Cool J helps deliver beers to some Corona fans (apparently) and Lainey Wilson, among others.

CrowdStrike

The internet has become the Wild West, and one company has deemed itself as the sheriff.

CrowdStrike, a cyber security brand, is looking to keep people online safe, and it's teasing its ad in the Super Bowl ahead of the game.

DoorDash

The Chiefs or 49ers won't be the only winner on Super Bowl Sunday.

DoorDash announced in a teaser that it's going to be delivering prizes of everything advertised during the Super Bowl to one lucky winner. That will be everything from three different cars, a 30-pound jar of mayonnaise, and 1,000 wings from Popeyes, among others, according to AdWeek.

Doritos

Wednesday on a Sunday.

Jenna Ortega, the star of Netflix's "Wednesday" show, is concerned about the lack of Doritos' Dinamitas in a teaser ad. Doritos has had plenty of high-profile stars in their ads. Ortega and Danny Ramirez are just the latest. And it turns out, Arnold Schwarzenegger won't be the only one in a Super Bowl action movie (packed inside a commercial).

Drumstick

Eric Andre needs a doctor, and unfortunately, Dr. Rumack is nowhere to be found.

Fortunately, Dr. Umstick is on board and he has a fix for what ails everyone (except the lactose intolerant): a drumstick. It might be a delicious dessert, but it still isn't what Andre needs — and Umstick is still not an actual doctor.

e.l.f Cosmetics

You've been summoned. Well, you and Meghan Trainor, among other stars.

e.l.f Cosmetics is bringing out a cast of characters from courtroom-related shows like "Jury Duty" and "Suits" for its Super Bowl ad. Along with Trainor, Ronald Gladden, Gina Torres, Rick Hoffman, and Sarah Rafferty are all going to be in the same courtroom for the makeup company.

E*Trade

Even babies are catching pickleball fever.

The E*Trade babies are back for another Super Bowl, and they don't quite seem to be understanding how pickleball (or trash talk) works at first. But these babies still know plenty about investing, and over time, they start to pick up on how the sport (and trash talking) work.

Etsy

Ever get an amazing gift and just don't know how to match it for that person later on?

Etsy's here to help with that. And apparently, they've been doing it since 1886. How did America match the Statue of Liberty? By getting France a cheese board (don't worry, the French loved it).

FanDuel

Gronk is making a comeback ... to kicking.

Last year, in a live Super Bowl ad, Rob Gronkowski booted a field-goal kick wide left — even if it sure looked like he made it. FanDuel still allowed fans to split a prize pool of $10 million in free bets. Now, Gronkowski is making his comeback with the help of Carl Weathers. For his part, John Cena is hoping Gronkowski misses again.

Weathers, who died on Feb. 1, will still appear in the ad with some changes after FanDuel consulted with Weathers' family.

The Foundation to Combat Antisemitism

The Foundation to Combat Antisemitism will be running an ad in the Super Bowl aimed at combating antisemitism. The ad will feature the hashtag, #StandUpToJewishHate and will feature Dr. Clarence B. Jones, a civil rights activist who helped to draft Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech.

The foundation was founded by Robert Kraft, owner of the Patriots, who created the organization in 2019.

Hellman's

We know at least one commercial Will Levis will certainly enjoy.

"Barbie" actress Kate McKinnon and her cat become chefs after realizing how empty the refrigerator is and how useful Hellmann's mayonnaise can be. Soon after, everyone — including Pete Davidson — wants the mayo.

Lindt

Chocolate makes the world go round, so the world decided to make chocolate round.

Lindt, the popular Swiss chocolatier, has been making round chocolate for a while now, but in Super Bowl 58, it will be rolling out an ad to the treats to the tune of Perry Como's "Round and Round."

M&M's

So close, yet so far.

That's probably how Dan Marino, Terrell Owens, and Bruce Smith feel having come up short of winning a ring in their careers, but at least they're getting a chance to be recognized by M&M's, who are featuring them as the headliners for their Super Bowl spot.

Microsoft

Robots are taking over the world. Well, not quite. But AI is certainly continuing its growth.

Microsoft is showing off its new AI, Copilot, which can be used to help people complete everyday tasks. Just maybe still refraining from using it to help with homework.

Mountain Dew

Aubrey Plaza's going to be the life of the party from now on.

Whether being hit by pool noodles at a birthday party, winning (or losing) in video games or riding a dragon in a Mountain Dew commercial, she's having a (Baja) Blast. April even gets some help from a former boss (who also wants everyone to know he's having a blast).

Nerds

From TikTok to the Super Bowl.

Addison Rae is coaching someone in a teaser for Nerds. In the full ad, it's revealed to be a giant Nerds Gummy Clusters. This must be the year for "Flashdance" to make a comeback.

NFL

Yes, the NFL is once again running an NFL ad during the middle of the NFL's big game.

The shield advertises itself every year immediately following the halftime show. This year, Saquon Barkley, Cameron Jordan, and Justin Jefferson are playing in Accra, Ghana.

Oikos

Spinach is so 1932.

Comedian Martin Lawrence does his best Popeye the Sailor Man impression and shows off how strong Oikos can make him by lifting a golf cart out of the pond in front of Shannon Sharpe. Thankfully, Oikos provides a warning that it is a dramatization, so don't try that one at home.

Opendoor

You can do anything from your home. Even sell your house.

That's what Opendoor is advertising during the Super Bowl, showing football fans how easy it is to take a video showing off your house and get ready to put it up for sale. In this market, it might be sold before the commercial ends.

Oreo

Who needs a coin when you have an Oreo?

Sure, you can't flip it, but you can twist it and see which side will have the stuffing and which will be empty. Even Kris Jenner decided to make the Kardashian show by twisting on it.

Pluto TV

Now this ad is out of this world.

Pluto TV, a Paramount product, shows how couch potatoes are made. No, they just don't just pop up after a hard day. They are cultivated and farmed and are made stronger by watching all the contest on Pluto TV.

Popeyes

Worth the wait?

Ken Jeong will help decide that. He's been cryogenically frozen, and after 52 years, he's waking up to try out the latest addition to Popeyes menu.

Poppi

Whether you call it soda, pop or just a coke, Poppi is changing how you view that bubbly beverage.

Plenty of people are looking for healthy alternatives to traditional soda options. Poppi is promoting itself as a soda "with none of the bad stuff," highlighting the low sugar count and natural ingredients. How is it different than sparkling water? Guess you'll have to taste it to find out.

Pringles

Chris Pratt is going back to playing a mustachioed character wearing red.

This one's not Mario, though. This time, Pratt is intrigued by his resemblance to the Julius Pringles. And before long, he's even cast in a movie as Mr. Pringles.

Reese's

Do people like change?

Clearly not ... unless it's making something sweet even sweeter. Reese's teased at a change coming to the iconic peanut butter chocolate candy, and in the Super Bowl, they'll be running an ad showing that the new change is adding caramel to the tasty treat.

Snapchat

In an era with more social media than ever, Snapchat is looking to stand above the rest. Or perhaps outside the rest.

Snapchat is releasing an ad calling out other platforms for things like "likes" and "friends" and praising itself for getting individual perspectives more directly to actual friends, rather than just a collection of people that have been friended.

SquareSpace

Most Super Bowl ads land a big actor to star in the spot. SquareSpace landed a big director.

Academy Award-winning director Martin Scorsese directed the SquareSpace's ad, which features New York City a bit too distracted by their phones to notice an alien invasion going on.

Starry

Grah.

Ice Spice gave her signature saying during a commercial for lemon-lime soda, Starry. Everyone knows Ice Spice. But her ex? That appears to be a reveal waiting for the Super Bowl.

State Farm

He's back.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is no longer saving the world from Predators or from Skynet. Now, he's helping save people money on car insurance as "Agent State Farm."

SToK Cold Brew

Anthony Hopkins helped catch the Red Dragon in 2002. Now, he is becoming the Red Dragon.

This red dragon isn't paired with a woman clothed with the sun, but rather it's paired with Wrexham, the English soccer team owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. Hopkins takes on his role as the Wred Dragon to another level, thanks in part to stadium partner of Wrexham, SToK Cold Brew.

T-Mobile

The T-Mobile guys — Zach Braff and Donald Faison — are changing up the showtunes.

Out with "Oklahoma" and in with "Flashdance" as the two are back to putting on a musical-themed ad. Now, the actors of "Scrubs" fame are getting some help from Jason Momoa, who joins in the singing and dancing.

Toyota

Yeah, Toyota knows what that handle is for.

Whatever you call the handle above the passenger side door, one thing's clear: it's the brace yourself handle. And in Toyota's new ad, it's leaning into the use for it while showing off the off-roading capabilities of the new Tacoma.

TurboTax

Get ready to get schooled. Also, get ready for tax season.

"Abbott Elementary" star Quinta Brunson is joining with TurboTax to get viewers ready for filing, which is coming up sooner than anyone would like to believe.

Uber Eats

There's another spice in the Super Bowl. This one's a bit more of a throwback.

Victoria Beckham, aka Posh Spice, and her husband David Beckham are advertising for Uber Eats, highlighting how easy it is to forget things. Including, apparently, whether the Super Bowl is for baseball or hockey (hint: it's not Beckham's football).

And that's not all. Rachel and Ross Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer are friends again. Or, well, sort of. Schwimmer remembers the good times and he'll be there to remind Aniston of them, even if she appears unable to remember. It must be another off-again phase.

Verizon

OK everyone, brace yourselves: we could have a Beyonce appearance in a Super Bowl ad.

Actor Tony Hale has now appeared in two teaser ads for Verizon. The first one, he's squeezing lemons to make LEMONADE (you know, like the iconic 2016 album). In the next one, he's standing by a shining, silver horse, not unlike the one on the cover of Beyonce's "Renaissance" album. Yeah, these are some pretty heavy-handed hints.

Volkswagen

Punch buggy, no punch back.

There might be a few jabs thrown whenever the Volkswagen commercial comes on the air. The German automaker is rolling out the vintage cars in its 2024 Super Bowl commercial.
