We've finally made it to Super Bowl Sunday! Only one game remains in the 2022-23 NFL season, with Super Bowl 57 between the NFC Champion Eagles and AFC Champion Chiefs sure to provide fans and bettors with some unforgettable moments.

With live betting increasing in popularity since the legalization of sports betting — not to mention the ease at which bettors can place wagers on their favorite sportsbooks' app — we will be giving you insight into and advice on making live bets for Super Bowl 57.

Below, we'll detail our live betting approach and provide our live betting recommendations as the big game progresses. Our primary objective: help guide you to profitability by the conclusion of Super Bowl 57.

Super Bowl 57 Game Odds: Eagles vs. Chiefs pregame lines, live betting strategy

Odds courtesy of BetMGM

  • Spread: Eagles -1.5 (-110) | Chiefs +1.5 (-110)
  • Moneyline:  Eagles -120 | Chiefs +100
  • Over/under: O 51.5 (-105) | U 51.5 (-115)

While we will be capitalizing on live, in-game bets that pop up and strike us as appealing, we obviously also have plenty of vested interest in a handful of pregame wagers. Let's discuss some of our favorites and then track them as the evening progresses.

The Chiefs (+1.5; +100) are rarely in the underdog role, making them a potential value play relative to their typical pregame pricing. Sunday marks just the third time this season that Kansas City has closed as an underdog, and only the ninth time in the Mahomes era. Mahomes sports a more-than-profitable 7-1-1 ATS record in those contests — and while the Eagles are arguably the more talented team, it's tough to bet against "The Grim Reaper" with your hard-earned money.

MORE SUPER BOWL 57 PROPS:
Best Props | Chiefs | Eagles | Mahomes | Hurts | MVP

Our two betting experts, Sloan Piva and Nick Musial, are both in agreement with their pick on the side. Both like the Chiefs to emerge victorious and would bet on the Chiefs' moneyline before kickoff, as well as the Chiefs +0.5 at halftime (+100) and Mahomes +130 to win Super Bowl MVP. But for those waiting until after kickoff to make in-game wagers, we'll be doing that, too! Oftentimes, that's where the most value can be found.

MORE SUPER BOWL 57 NOVELTY PROPS:
Game Props | National Anthem | Halftime Show | Broadcast | Coin Toss, More

In terms of our live betting strategy, our goal for betting on the side (which team covers the spread) and total (how many points are scored in the contest) is to place bets when the prices are better than the closing lines. With the side and total markets very sharp considering both the Eagles and Chiefs have played 19 games this season, we have chosen to largely respect the closing lines.

MORE SUPER BOWL 57 BETTING & FANTASY:
Same Game Parlay | DraftKings lineup | FanDuel lineup

For example, if you're siding with the Chiefs, you could make a wager on the Chiefs' spread or moneyline if their live odds improve throughout the game. For instance, say the Eagles drive down the field on their opening drive and score a TD. If live betting odds now list the Chiefs at +4.5 (-115) and the Eagles at -4.5 (-115), we'd recommend looking the way of the Chiefs at +4.5 (-115). That's again due to the Eagles closing at -1.5 (-110) — making a bet on the Eagles as a larger favorite at -4.5 (-115) isn't a great bet, considering they were priced much shorter prior to kickoff.

The goal of becoming a profitable sports bettor is to make good bets, and understanding that a "good" bet is relative to the corresponding odds of the bet would lead you to refrain from betting on the Eagles at -4.5 (-115). Additionally, in this instance, the over/under would also likely increase from the closing total of 50.5 with an early first-quarter touchdown on the scoreboard. Therefore, we'd recommend a live UNDER bet with the in-game total sitting higher than the closing total of 50.5. It might also make sense in that case to live-bet the UNDER on the second half total of 26 or more, given that the Chiefs and Eagles scored over 58 percent of their combined points in the first half of games since the start of the 2022 season.

Now that we've detailed our philosophy, let's make some bets!

Super Bowl 57 Odds: Eagles-Chiefs live betting lines, odds, picks, in-game recommendations

(All times Eastern)

10:28 p.m. — Horn-tooting time.

  • Chiefs win by 1-6 points (+290)
  • Chiefs total OVER 23.5 points (-145)
  • Mahomes 3+ passing TDs (+165)

That's NINE hits out of 12 best bets. Excuse me while I go put some champagne on ice.

10:27 p.m. — Let's look at the live betting props we recommended within this thread:

Pregame/1st quarter:

  • Kelce anytime first-half TD (+210)
  • Chiefs +3.5 or +145 ML
  • Patrick Mahomes OVER 26.5 rushing yards (-115)
  • DeVonta Smith OVER 5.5 receptions (-115)

2nd quarter:

  • A.J. Brown UNDER 101.5 receiving yards (-115)

  • Chris Stapleton national anthem UNDER 126.5 seconds (-110)
  • Coin toss: Tails (-105)
  • MVP (Mahomes) thanks teammates first (-120)
  • Rihanna last song "Diamonds" (+800)
  • Rihanna black hair (-600)

10:24 p.m. — Nick put together a list of the big hits from his pieces. Money man Musial did it again! Check out the greens from our Chi-town machine:

  • Chiefs +1.5, OVER 50.5
  • Travis Kelce anytime TD scorer (-135)
  • Isiah Pacheco OVER 68.5 rushing plus receiving yards (-120)
  • Kansas City Chiefs Team Total OVER 24.5 points (-110)
  • Head-to-head passing props: Patrick Mahomes -0.5 pass TDs vs. Jalen Hurts (-120)
  • Patrick Mahomes to win Super Bowl 57 MVP (+120)
  • Jersey number of first touchdown scorer: UNDER 11.5 (-130)
  • First touchdown type: Rushing (+160)
  • Team to make first coach's challenge: Chiefs (-120)
  • Will the first coach's challenge be successful?: No (+110)
  • Last play of game to be a QB kneel? No (+155)

That's eleven hits scattered across multiple pieces. You love to see it.

10:14 p.m. — The Kansas City Chiefs are your Super Bowl 57 champions. With red and yellow confetti raining down on them, Reid credits the offensive line, offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, and his MVP quarterback. The Gatorade color: purple! That was the longest shot of them all, all the way down the list at +900. It was orange the last time KC won it all three years ago.

10:11 p.m. — With 11 seconds left, Butker comes out for his redemption kick, the go-ahead field goal to make it 38-35 Kansas City. The Chiefs are now eight seconds away from the franchise's third Super Bowl championship.

10:07 p.m. — With 1:48 remaining, the Eagles commit a huge defensive holding call that likely has televisions flying out of the windows of hundreds (if not thousands) of Philadelphia homes. One play later, Jerick McKinnon rushes the ball to the Eagles' one-yard line and slides down to keep the clock moving. The moneyline is off the board now, with the Chiefs able to drain the clock.

10:05 p.m. — At the two-minute mark, the spread is off the board. After the scamper, the Chiefs' moneyline went up to -650, the Eagles +400.

10:02 p.m. — (2:12 left) Pacheco banged up, but comes back onto the field to nearly scorch the Eagles. Philly safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson makes the open-field tackle of the game. One play later, Mahomes sneaks up the middle for a huge 26-yard run. That's his longest run of the season — on a sprained ankle. MVP.

9:59 p.m. — Tweet-worthy.

9:53 p.m. — Hurts was +1400 pregame to score three non-passing TDs. His three rushing TDs is yet another Super Bowl record. Our minds are blown and our faces are melted.

Updated odds:
Spread: Chiefs -2.5 (-145) | Eagles +2.5 (+110)
Moneyline: Chiefs -165 | Eagles +130
Total: 76.5 (O -115/U -120)

9:51 p.m. — WHAT!? Hurts hits a wide open DeVonta Smith for a massive completion that puts Philly near the goal line. From there, Hurts takes the first snap in for a TD and the second one in for a two-point conversion. 35-35. Shoulda gone for two, Reid!

9:47 p.m. — Mahomes is now -400 to win Super Bowl MVP, an insane swing considering Hurts had 75 percent implied probability to win at halftime. More Mahomes magic.

9:42 p.m. — Rookie wideout Skyy Moore with the TD reception, cashing his +500 anytime score investors (can I borrow your crystal ball!?). Reid surprisingly sends Butker out to kick the extra point rather than go for two to make it a two-score game. 35-27 KC with 9:22 left.

This is why we stuck with our gut at halftime!

9:39 p.m. — Steve Spagnuolo's Chiefs defense just made its first three-and-out of the game. Moments later, Toney strikes again with the longest punt return in Super Bowl history — a 65-YARDER! The Chiefs just jumped up to commanding -275 favorites, snapping from the Eagles' five-yard line up 28-27 with nine and a half minutes remaining.

9:32 p.m. — Kadarius Toney goes from Super Bowl scrub to Super Bowl hero, catching the easiest ball of the game for six to tie it up (Toney was a pregame +260 to score anytime). A Butker extra point gives the Chiefs the lead for the first time all game.

Hold onto your moneylines, Philly fans! The Chiefs just moved up to -120 favorites, while the Eagles are -105. KC's spread is +1.5 (-145), while Philly's -1.5 is +110. Total remains 65.5 (-115 O/-110 U).

The pregame OVER of 50.5? Cashes. The Chiefs' OVER of 24.5? Cashes.

9:30 p.m. — Signs of life from JuJu Smith-Schuster at the start of the fourth quarter. Mahomes has hit him three times in just this drive. The slot-man is all over the field right now, which is opening things up for Mahomes and allowing him to get the ball out of the pocket quickly. Could we see Kansas City take the lead here!?

9:21 p.m. — Hurts has made history.

Hurts' live rushing yards prop is now priced at 83.5 — -120 to the OVER, -115 to the UNDER. We would go OVER — he has a full quarter to get 18 ground yards — and we all know he and Nick Sirianni trust Hurts with the ball in crunch time more than they trust any running back.

9:20 p.m. — (1:45, 3rd) Philadelphia goes up 27-21 with another Jake Elliott field goal.

Updated odds:
Spread: Eagles -4.5 (-115) | Chiefs +4.5 (-110)
Moneyline: Eagles -225 | Chiefs +180
Total: 61.5

9:14 p.m. — Play stands — a massive blow to the Chiefs, who lose the timeout and have to continue defending another lengthy drive. Nick not only hit on the Chiefs challenging first, he also hit on the first coach's challenge being unsuccessful (+110). Money man Musial strikes again.

Hurts and Mahomes to each record 2+ passing TDs is -145. That's a lot of juice, but we could think of worse wagers in a QB duel with poor rushing conditions.

9:09 p.m. — Hurts just made one of the passes of the night, hitting Goedert on the sideline for a highlight-reel catch. But wait...did the tight end have control and get two feet in before going out of bounds? Andy Reid makes the first challenge of the game with 5:55 remaining in the third quarter.

We hit on another prop from one of our betting pieces: Team to make first coach's challenge: Chiefs (-120).

9:05 p.m. — Hurts' passing yards over/under jumped up to 300.5 (-115). Woof. We feel a little less confident in that OVER, especially with State Farm Stadium's field looking like a polo field on a misty day. We might be wise to wait until that total dips a little.

9:02 p.m. — After 'much ado about nothing,' a defensive scoop-and-score is reversed and called an incomplete pass. Philly retains the ball, and within one minute Hurts throws a dart to Dallas Goedert for a long gain. Hurts is now up to 212 passing yards, having completed 20 of his 26 attempts. Given the game script, we can't blame anyone for betting Hurts' OVER 285.5 passing yards at -115.

8:56 p.m. — Pacheco breaks into the end zone! Another 'anytime TD' prop we crushed (+140). 24-21 Philly with the live odds already shifting to Chiefs +4.5 and then +3.5.

Updated moneylines:
Eagles -185 I Chiefs +140

8:54 p.m. — Mahomes silencing the doubters and driving effortlessly down the field. Chiefs at the Eagles' nine-yard line — and Jerick McKinnon picks up seven to get KC to the one. See why we pushed the +7.5!?

8:50 p.m. — Second half underway, and Mahomes is out there — looking a bit ginger, of course, but he's tough. First two plays are Isiah Pacheco runs. Smash his OVER of 45.5 rushing yards now, and consider riding it even if it jumps to 60. The rookie back is the speedster on this offense now, and he seems primed to be utilized plenty in this second half. If you're feeling especially saucy, consider his live parlay of 55+ rushing yards, 20+ receiving yards (+200). They have to throw him the ball eventually, right!?

8:46 p.m. — Recommended live parlay: Travis Kelce to record 110+ receiving yards and score 2+ TDs (+125). If the Chiefs pull off the comeback win, Kelce will have his fingerprints all over it.

8:43 p.m. — Looking ahead to the second half, we're holding strong with the Chiefs +7.5 (-125) because we believe in Mahomes magic and 7.5 still seems like a ton of points. Here's hoping Kansas City's first drive is kind to us.

8:41 p.m. — Rihanna, or should I say Queen RiRi, just finished one of the best halftime shows in Super Bowl history and we hit on the last song with "Diamonds" +800. We'll take it!

8:28 p.m. — So much for my second career as a Rihanna expert. I had "Lift Me Up" as Song No. 1 in the Apple Music Halftime Show, and "B— Better Have My Money" prevailed. That song was all the way down the odds list at +1500!

8:22 p.m. — Recommended player prop at halftime: Kenneth Gainwell +500 anytime TD. Gainwell saw a 55 percent snap share in the first half, which led all Eagles backs. It may seem volatile since Hurts has already snuck in two TDs, but we expect Chris Jones and the Chiefs' front-seven to sell out to stop Hurts so Gainwell seems like a great value here.

8:17 p.m. — After a Jake Elliott field goal makes it 24-14 at the half, the odds are currently:
Spread: Eagles -7.5 (-110), Chiefs +7.5 (-115)
Moneyline: Eagles -400 | Chiefs +280.
Total 62.5

Relative to the closing odds, we'd still recommend the Chiefs in the second half — especially considering they get the ball to start the second half — but of course, we are wary of Mahomes' mobility with the ankle.

Hurts is now a massive MVP favorite at -300, an implied probability of 75 percent.

8:07 p.m. — Odds back up, with the Eagles' live moneyline -250. Can they get a late first-half score to take a double-digit lead?

Philly just jumped up to -9.5 (-120) on the spread. How quickly the tides of betting can change in the big game.

8:05 p.m. — The live markets closed entirely after the Mahomes injury.

8:03 p.m. — That was a calamitous drive for the Chiefs. They punt after Mahomes limp-hops off the field, giving Arrowhead faithful a high-ankle deja vu and giving a red-hot Hurts the ball back with 1:22 still left in the half. That's plenty of time to move on Steve Spagnuolo's D, which has spent over 20 minutes on the field.

7:58 p.m. — Two minute warning updated odds:
Spread: Eagles -3.5 (-110) | Chiefs +3.5 (-115)
Moneyline: Eagles -185 | Chiefs +145
Total: 65.5, a staggering -125 to the UNDER

7:58 p.m. — Two minute warning, animals are doing the Electric Slide on Jeep commercials, and the live prop odds are getting even more crazy. Hurts, who just cashed on his +500 two TD prop, now has live odds of -125 to score a third TD. Before the game, Hurts' three non-passing TDs was +1400!

Hurts is now -200 to win Super Bowl MVP, an implied probability of 66 percent. Who could argue with oddsmakers at this point? We have to think he's sportsbooks' biggest liability on the MVP front at this point.

7:53 p.m. — (2:20, 2nd) The Eagles are keeping the 'pedal all the way down,' as Greg Olsen put it. They just picked apart a clearly-exhausted Chiefs D, converted on two fourth downs, and finished with Hurts' second TD scamper of the first half to make it 21-14!

OVER bettors are already popping champagne. We're at 35 points with still enough time in the half for Mahomes and the Chiefs to put up some more points.

7:51 p.m. — Nothing fazes these Eagles. Hurts remains confident in (and out of) the pocket, and Sirianni keeps up his penchant for bold calls. Like clockwork, Philly converts on a fourth down, a popular prop play by sharp bettors over the past couple weeks.

7:48 p.m. — Nick just uncovered that the Nick Bolton 'anytime TD' prop paid 75-1. Wow!

7:44 p.m. — (8:08, 2nd) Philadelphia's moneyline: -120. Kansas City's: -110. The first-half live total is up to 37.5 (-140). Too many points and too much juice.

7:40 p.m. — WHOA! Defensive TD! Nick Bolton takes the scoop-and-score to the house after Hurts puts the ball on the turf. Brand new game...again!

We cashed on on our first-half OVER of 24.5 (+100). We are knocking the props out of the park tonight. Too bad we can't have Super Bowls every Sunday!

The over/under now sits at a whopping 64.5. We're encroaching on history if the number keeps rising.

7:38 p.m. — Mahomes SB MVP odds are up to a juicy +250, relative to the Chiefs' live ML reaching +165. These are great opportunities for those who still believe in the Chiefs and Mahomes magic (including us).

Zach Pascal's OVER 0.5 receptions cashed. He was seeing an increased snap share the past couple of weeks!

7:34 p.m. — Brown's live receiving yards prop is now at 101.5 — we'd suggest staying away from that OVER as he has been rather inconsistent this postseason. Hurts remains the odds-on SB MVP favorite at -145...and in an instant, -165.

7:26 p.m. — (14:52, 2nd) Hurts and the Eagles wasted no time capitalizing on the Butker doink. A long bomb to A.J. Brown cashes the wideout's anytime TD prop at +120.

The Eagles are now up to -4.5, with -115 juice on both sides. The total? A whopping 60.5. Moneyline: Eagles -200, Chiefs +155.

7 25 p.m. — Live odds after the first quarter: Eagles -2.5 (-120), Chiefs +2.5 (-110). Total 55.5, (-115 to the over). Eagles ML -145, Chiefs +110.

7:21 p.m. — (1:20, 1st) Another eye-catching bet: a live parlay for Kelce to record 110+ receiving yards and score two TDs is priced at just +100 on BetMGM

7:17 p.m. — We got a DOINK! Harrison Butker's first missed field goal attempt of the postseason leads to Philly once again being live favorites (-120). Kelce remains dominant, and has seen his receiving yards over/under climb all the way up to 126.5 (-115).

7:13 p.m. — The Chiefs' team total has skyrocketed all the way up to 30.5, with the Eagles up to 28.5. No action to recommend just yet. The Chiefs are up to -165 after a hands-to-the-face personal foul on Ndamukong Suh.

7:09 p.m. — The Chiefs are now the live favorite at -135. Glad we got in when they were +3.5 on the spread and +145 on the moneyline. Live betting for the win!

7:06 p.m. — Smith's OVER on his 5.5 receptions prop is looking great. He's getting open all over the field. Fantastic chemistry with Hurts.

7:02 p.m. — Hurts and Mahomes' MVP odds back to +125 each. The live moneyline and spread have returned to pregame pricing. Brand new game!

The live total has gone up to 59.5. Still, it's tough to recommend the under despite the number being appealing. These have been the top two offenses all season, led by the league MVP (Mahomes) and an MVP candidate in Hurts, who only lost one game all season.

Kelce's current receiving yards prop is priced at 109.5 yards after racking up 38 yards on that drive. We might consider that OVER, honestly. He is the Chiefs' receiving game.

7:00 p.m. — Mahomes to Kelce for the TD and the lock of the century at -130. He's come through for us all postseason.

6:59 p.m. — Patrick Mahomes' ankle looks good. We'd consider hitting his rushing yards OVER of 26.5, considering how well Philly rushes the passer. That prop will only go up the more sneaks we see.

6:56 p.m. — Miles Sanders heads to the locker room — time to hit some Kenneth Gainwell and even Boston Scott rushing props as soon as possible. Kenny G anytime TD: +275 (lock it in!). Scott anytime TD: +150.

6:55 p.m. — (10:09) Hurts paid off all his 'first TD scorer' investors to the tune of +800. That crowd is loving life right now. The Eagles' live moneyline/spread have gone up to -185/-3.5 (+100). The Chiefs are +145/+3.5 (-110). The total has ballooned up to 55.5. Good time to consider capitalizing on the Chiefs +3.5 or +145.

6:52 p.m. — Kenneth Gainwell rushing TD called back, but it's still a first down. Jalen Hurts sneaks in the one-yard TD for yet another early CASH. We're loving this Super Bowl so far, and at this point we might be dancing to Rihanna with extra exuberance at halftime

6:49 p.m. — (10:31) Eagles are driving with vigor. Live odds already shifted to Eagles -3.5 (+100) following Hurts' big scramble. The over/under has gone up to 53.5.

6:45 p.m. — First play: Miles Sanders rush. Second play: short Jalen Hurts pass to DeVonta Smith, which cashed for the crowd that bet Hurts to complete his first pass (-250). Third play: 12-yard catch and run by Smith. If Philly can establish the pass early, target Hurts, Sanders, and even Gainwell rushing OVERs.

6:44 p.m. — Opening kick downed by Philly. Here comes Jalen Hurts and the Eagles, the best opening-drive squad in the NFL this season.

6:37 p.m. — The call is tails, which we called in our exotic props piece! That's just the fifth time over the past 15 Super Bowls that tails has not failed. We hope Kansas City winning the coin flip and deferring doesn't doom our Chiefs pick — the past eight teams that have won the opening toss have lost the big game. But it's bad luck to be superstitious!

6:33 p.m. — Markets closed for pregame betting. It's all live betting from here on out. Let's go!

Closing odds:

Spread: Eagles -1.5 (-110) | Chiefs +1.5 (-110)
Moneyline: Eagles -120 | Chiefs +100
Total: OVER 51.5 (-105) | UNDER 51.5 (-115)

6:30 p.m. — Stapleton hit the UNDER — we clocked it at 2:02 and needed anything under 2:06 — so we're off to a great start!

6:24 p.m. —  With pregame markets closing at basically the same lines and spreads we have had most of the day, it's time for the pregame performances of "America the Beautiful" by Babyface, then the military colors, then finally "The Star-Spangled Banner" by Chris Stapleton. We'll be watching Stapleton intently, as we picked the UNDER on 126.5 total seconds in our national anthem props piece

3:30 p.m. — Three hours remaining until the big game. Some notes on BetMGM's current odds:

  • Travis Kelce anytime TD remains a strong play at -125. Kelce's '2 or more TDs' prop lowered to +300 (we liked it better when we could bet that prop at +500. Recommended prop: Kelce anytime first-half TD +210.
  • We still like Patrick Mahomes Super Bowl MVP at +130 better than the Chiefs +0.5 (-115) or their +100 moneyline. If you're picking the Eagles, you might consider doing the same with Jalen Hurts, whose SB MVP odds are at +150.
  • The full-game over/under remains at 50.5, but remember that we prefer betting the first-half OVER of 24.5 (+100). Since the start of the 2022 season, the Chiefs and Eagles have ranked first and second in first-half scoring. For the visual crowd, check out this stat box:

Eagles and Chiefs' first-half scoring averages

Season + Playoffs Last 3 games Last game
Eagles 18.2 (1st) 21.7 (1st) 21
Chiefs 15.5 (2nd) 18.0 (3rd) 13
Total 33.7 39.7 34
  • Other props we like: Miles Sanders OVER 30.5 first-half rushing yards (-110); Jalen Hurts anytime TD (-110); Marquez Valdes-Scantling longest reception OVER 30.5 yards (+225); Isiah Pacheco to have the most rushing yards (+275)

12:00 p.m. — T-minus six hours and 30 minutes until kickoff. Check back in 5-10 minutes before game time so you can follow us live during the game!
